My Approach
Reaching out takes Courage

You might feel stuck and unsure which way to go. I can offer the time and space you need to explore a way forward – outdoors in nature, or remotely (online or on the ‘phone).
You’ve taken this first step towards helping yourself. The next is to find a way of working that feels right for you.
I work in a psychodynamic way to provide a safe and holding space where you can express your thoughts and feelings and be listened to with warmth and without judgement. We begin with what brings you here and gently, over time, explore the roots that might lie beneath. As we unfurl and reflect upon your life story together, you will gain a greater sense of how you have been shaped by your relationships and experiences.
Your journey of self-awareness is uniquely yours. My role is to help you build a deeper understanding of how you relate to yourself, and to others around you. This growing awareness will allow you the chance to step out of stuck patterns of thoughts and behaviours and walk a path that feels more true to you.
I offer two spaces of working together: ecotherapy outdoors in nature, or remotely – online or on the telephone. For some, being in nature provides a freer space to walk alongside rather than sitting still within a room. For others, the security of a room feels safer – or simply more practical.
Nature’s expansive and everchanging ‘room’ allows us to move throughout the seasons, bringing a sense of continuity to our work together, and a deeper connection to the natural world around us. By seeing ourselves reflected in the different elements of nature, the trees and the weather for example, we’re guided towards a deeper understanding of where we find challenges in life, and how we might find the strength to overcome them.
Equally I appreciate where it might seem impossible to find the time and space in your life to care for yourself. Remote work offers you the chance to establish an assured space each week to focus on your own needs in a way that might feel more accessible.
Whichever way appeals to you, or if you’re not sure and would like to find out more about my way of working, please don’t hesitate to email me. If it feels suitable, we can then arrange to have an initial session together.
